Akwa Ibom State Governor’s office
The
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has forwarded a letter
containing the names of 20 commissioner-nominees and two special
advisers to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for approval.
The letter, which was in line with
section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria was read to the members at plenary on Wednesday by the Clerk,
Mrs. Mandu Umoren.
Those whose names are contained in the
letter as commissioner-nominees are Messrs. Godwin Ntukudeh, Akan Okon,
Aniekan Akpan, Monday Uko and Emmanuel Ibiok.
Others are Messrs Emmanuel Enoidem,
Enobong Uwah, Ekong Sampson, Uwem Ita Etuk, Ephraim Inyang, Etido
Inyang, Aniekan Umana, Dr. Mathew Nathaniel, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, Dr.
Iniobong Essien, Dr. Emmanuel Ating and Mr. Uwemedimo Nwoko.
Also, nominated as commissioners are,
Dr. Glory Edet, Mrs. Elizabeth Obot, and Mr. Victor Antai, while Mr.
Anietie Etuk and Enyinnaya Ekpenyong are nominated as special advisers.
It
was learnt that 15 out of the 20 commissioners had served in the
previous administration of Godswill Akpabio while the five that are new
represents only 25 per cent on the list.
The Speaker, Mr. Aniekan Uko, has
directed that the list of the nominees be sent to the House Committee on
Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petition for screening.
Uko, however, asked the committee to report back to the House the development on the list within three days.
