The party also said it was not surprised by the statement made by
President Muhammadu Buhari that old age would limit his performance in
office.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dare Omotosho, to
journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the zonal executive said it set up
a three-member committee which looked into the crisis and submitted a
report for review to the Central Working Committee on June 17, 2015,
which made recommendations to the National Working Committee.
The statement said, “The problem of the Lagos PDP is not
unconnected with financial mismanagement and misappropriation of party
and election fund, administration ineptitude and undue interference by
some party leaders in the state.
“The crisis was responsible for the loss of the Lagos governorship
election,” noting that “the party went into the election with a divided
house.”
The zonal leadership appealed to members of the party in the state
to “sheath their swords and give peace a chance” urging the “National
Working Committee to act fast on the crisis as it deepens by the day.”
