Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has submitted a list of 24 prospective commissioners to the state house of assembly for approval.
Prominent names on the list include former members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Peace Nnaji and Hon. Chijioke Edoga, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Charles Egumbe, and a two-time governorship candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples’ Party, Ambassador Fidel Ayogu.
At a plenary session of the state house of assembly on Thursday, House leader, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, urged the lawmakers to accept the list of the nominees for consideration.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, said the prospective commissioners should submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae for screening.
Ubosi said the document should be submitted on or before July 13, 2015, for the screening, which is to hold on July 14, 2015.
Among the nominees were Engr. Patrick Ezebuiro Ikpenwa, Dr. Udeuhele Godwin Ikpechukwu, Mabeke Obinna Benjamin, Engr. Greg Nnaji, Dr. Sanmuel Ngwu, Barrister Chika Smart Ogbe and Mr. Ndukwe Charles Chuka.
Others were Barrister Chidi Aroh, Mrs Rita Chinelo Mbah, Barrister Sam Ogbu Nwobodo, Barrister Emeka Okeke, Chief Miletus Ezugworie Eze, Prof. Uchenna Eze, Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa, Ozo Gab Azubuike Onuzuilike, Mr. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, Mr. Vitus Okechi, Engr. Mike C. Eneh, Barrister Fide Ani, and Mrs. Eucharia Uche Offor.
